Michael D. Doran established Ascot Appraisals in 2006. A certified residential real estate appraiser, (Bureau of Real Estate Appraisers) Mike is also an active member, in good standing, of the Appraisal Subcommittee (ASC).
The ASC’s mission is to ensure that real estate appraisers, who perform appraisals in real estate transactions that could expose the United States government to financial loss, are sufficiently trained and tested to assure competency and independent judgment according to uniform high professional standards and ethics.
The ASC’s National Registry is a database consisting of State Licensed, State Certified Residential and State Certified General Appraisers who are eligible to perform appraisals in connection with federally related transactions. The information on these individuals is received directly from the State that issued the credential and is provided at least monthly. Find an active appraiser on the ASC National Registry here.
It is Mike’s top priority to be on the cutting edge of appraisal standards, requirements, and continuing education so that he can provide his clients with the most accurate, efficient, residential appraisals in Bakersfield and Kern County. As a Certified Residential Real Estate Appraiser, Mike Doran has over 200 Hours of education, in addition to the numerous hours of continuing education to further is expertise in the field of real estate appraisals. Mike’s continuing education in real estate appraisals includes an annual USPAP course (UNIFORM STANDARDS OF PROFESSIONAL APPRAISAL PRACTICE) to ensure all of his appraisal meet or exceed the highest standards.
Mike is a life-long Kern County resident. He grew up in Glennville, CA, lived in Taft, CA for several years, and finally moved to Bakersfield where he is happily married and raising a family with Amy, his wife of nearly twenty years. Mike has extensive knowledge of Bakersfield and it’s surrounding areas including the smaller and lesser known mountain communities of Glennville and Lake Isabella giving him unique perspective of the local and regional real estate market.
Mike currently resides in northwest Bakersfield with his wife and children, when not working he can be found building and playing guitars, gardening, grilling in the backyard, and spending time with his wife and daughters.
